Boys will be Boyz part ?

Our boys were in a multi stake dance festival that happens every 4 years; unfortunately scheduled on Memorial Day Weekend. So instead of our big camping/boating trip we stayed home to support them dancing.   Jensen could have danced 3 dances but skipped two.  As a Deacon Dallin could have danced 1 dance, but skipped it.  So we spent the entire evening looking for our boys among 1100 dancers.  I did find Jensen during the hip hop dance, so here are a few pictures of him.  The other pictures are of everyone BUT our boys dancing.

JDRF Walk for Diabetes 2012

We had a really small group this year.  Spencer gone, Kylee and Jensen both had to work:(  I am amazed that we were still able to raise over $1000.00.  Mostly due to online donations.  Yeah!!!!!!  It was a beautiful day and we are so grateful for our health and our ability to enjoy a walk together with friends. 

Someone got a car!

The deal in our house is if you get a job you get a car.  Well Jensen held up his end of the deal, it was our turn to hold up our end.  So here is Jensen with his new RIDE~  He is pretty happy!

It's official.  Jensen had his first day on the job at Wildwaves.  He is a ride operator.  He has to wear khaki pants or shorts, a watch and they issued him a shirt, sweatshirt and a hat.  I really love the photo bomb by his favorite brother Dallin.  So proud of Jensen for getting a job!  He is also playing basketball in a spring league for the varsity team at his high school.  We are hoping they find a great coach for his senior year.  Love this boy!

~ Girls Weekend~

We had such a fun weekend, just the girls :)  We embarked on a road trip to Kylee's new school Eastern Washington University!  I am so happy she is just a quick 4 hour drive from home.  ( I will be able to get her home on holidays and some weekends!)  My cousin and her family also live in Spokane which is just a half hour away.  We got to spend the night with them and attend my second cousins ( Kira's)  Young Women Medallion Ceremony.  Everyone was so nice on the campus and we were able to meet with the department advisor for Kylee's major.  He will be the one to approve her into the program she wants to study!  ( She is going to major in Biology and minor in humanities)  She has decided that she is interested in becoming a doctor!  So proud of her!  So here is my pre-med daughter in her new university wear :)

One of the reasons Kylee choose Eastern was because of their football program.  She is a major fan and is looking forward to cheering the team on as much as possible!

Some things I learned on our little weekend. 

• My cousin's house is like Fort Knox, once it's locked there is no getting back in ( I tried).  I left my phone plugged into the wall, and had to make a 1/2 hour round trip drive to Paula's work to fetch the key...
• Do not depend on contact information from your phone ( if you lock it in someones house, you cannot get ahold of that person to get their key because their number is also locked away in said house)
• What's mine is Kylee's and what's Kylee's is Kylee's.  I really miss my own hair dryer.  Mine has more power than hers and one morning I woke up to realize she had switched them.  I got to use mine again on the trip, and I miss it!
• Do not put Faith's carseat in the center of the back seat.  If she sees out the front windshield she will get car sick.
• Do let Faith walk by herself when out of the car, so that throw up misses me completely.
• Spokane needs to synchronize their lights on Division street! 
• Do Not buy husband sweatshirts with writing on the sleves, he thinks they are girly ( who knew?)

Happy 14th Birthday Dallin!

Today for Dallin's 14th birthday we  make it special by letting him choose what he wanted for his cake and his dinner.  He picked strawberry cupcakes, and for dinner we had carne azada burritos complete with guacamole, and his favorite peach salsa; we also had coconut shrimp and chicken taquitos. It was a weird combination but it was what he wanted.  He is at dance festival practice tonight,  after that we will have dessert.

 Dallin has an amazing heart.   He is loving and affectionate.  I love watching him with his little sister.  They play together daily for hours.  He also teases her, and she gives it right back to him.  He is strong willed, and is constantly testing his boundaries.  He has made us better parents.  We joke that he would have been happy as an only child, but now that we have Faith, I don't believe that is true any more.  He gets bored easily and needs to be constantly going.  He is the kid that will bring in the groceries, weed wack the yard, and stain the cabinets.  He likes to be hand on and involved in everything. 
We love you Dallin and are so excited to see what the next year brings :)  Hopefully some height, he is still waiting on his growth spurt, while many of his friends have passed him up!

Strawberry Cheesecake Cupcakes.  Strawberry Cake, filled with strawberry preserves. Topped with Cream Cheesecake frosting.  Sprinkled with graham cracker crumbs and topped off with a fresh strawberry slice!  My own creation for Dallin's birthday :)
