The National Bailout...

By the way, today when the President says this is a carefully drawn, fiscally responsible bill consider what is in the final legislation:

Billions in outright pork and wasteful spending:
$300 million for buying cars for federal bureaucrats;$3.7 billion for something called “green research” on military bases;$50 million for the National Endowment for the Arts; $2 billion for “neighborhood stabilization” to radical groups like ACORN;$1.3 billion for Amtrak; $10 million for"urban canals"(I'm not making this up); etc.

The Road to Government Run Health Care
$1.1 billion for “comparative effectiveness research” that will establish a federal government board to begin rationing health care by having bureaucrats deciding which medical treatments will be appropriate for which Americans.(Page 52 of final conference report)

Overturning the Historic Welfare Reform of 1996( This one really ticks me off!)
$264 billion for direct welfare payments while overturning the historic welfare reform of 1996.The Pelos\Reid\Obama bill will reward states with federal welfare funds based on the number of people they put on their welfare rolls – a perverse incentive that will in effect give states “bonuses” for adding more people to welfare rolls AND work requirements are ignored in this legislation.

$53.6 billion for a "state stabilization fund" otherwise known as a slush fund This massive infusion of our tax dollars is designed to alleviate the need for genuine budget reform and cutting at the state level.

So, when you hear folks saying this Pelosi\Reid\Obama "stimulus" bill was a "compromise" that cut waste to the bone while focusing only on "shovel ready" priorities, call them on it!

Jensen's List :)

So Jensen was not happy about having to load and unload the dishes on Monday. They are out of school all week for mid-winter break. When Jeff got home he asked Jensen to make a list of all the things I do for the family and then all the things he does for the family. Below is the list. Priceless.

Another Update from Spencer.

This kid, he just melts my heart. Here is his latest email. I gave him some advice last week, as missionaries they always ask's if there is anything they can do for a person when they knock on doors. Some younger women asked him and his companion to wash their car, and they did. I thought these girls were taking advantage of them, since they were obviously capable of washing their car themselves. Below is his reply to my advice...

Hey mom thanks for the updates sounds like everything is going really well. so about the service thing... that is actually what we are supposed to do. i learned something really amazing out here concerning charity this last week. i learned that there are three parts to charity. there is obedience, serving others, and preaching the gospel. because we served them we had the opportunity to share the gospel with them and even though they could do it themselves as represenatives of Jesus Christ we must offer service to everyone no matter who it is. It is true though we have to be careful and make sure that they are not joking around with us, but if we see an opportunity to serve we will take it. its just part of our calling and a way we can find love for all of the people living in Los Angeles. We need to do it. so yeah i cant believe that XXXXXX is getting in so much trouble... man i dont know whats wrong with him.. what can i do to help him? there has to be something. i am just so sad that he has decided to not serve a mission... thats just disappointing because a mission is really where you learn who you can be. you learn your strengths your weaknesses and how to overcome those weaknesses. its a great place to learn so if there is something i can do tell me. So yeah i am happy to hear how the family is doing so well. it just sounds like the Lord is helping everyone who is close to me. i have been thinking a lot about how the Lord has always directed my path in every way... its amazing i am so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who blessed me with Great parents, great friends, and great opportunities to better myself. i am so happy for His patience, His mercy, and His love. Sometimes we have a tendency to look at the problems in our life, but if we take a step back we can see so many good things! I mean we have challenges, but those challenges make us better! its so amazing how everything that we ever face makes us better if we lean on the Lord and allow Him to make us better. I had an amazing experience going tracting the other day where we were walking around just following the Spirit and knocking on the doors we felt good about and we found a man whos son just passed away and he is looking for something. That just testifies to me the power and authority we carry as ambassadors of the Lord. If we allow the Lord to guide us He will help us. Every day im out here i realize just exactly what im doing and what is happening to me. Mom its just great... i cant really even explain it i just feel.. changed for the better. i have so much more room to improve, but i am improving as a person i can feel it and see it. Anyway its great. well i love and miss you mom. i am so blessed to have such a good mother in my life who cares and loves me so much. i know that i made the right choice to choose you as my mother before this life :). im so grateful for you mom. i love you!

Another Cake!

Kylee's 1st Date!

Now that Kylee is 16 she can date! She was sent a text the morning of her 16th birthday by a family friend, at 6 am! He wanted to be the first to take Kylee out. They went to the mall and found things that begin with the letters in the alphabet and took a picture of each one. Then they shared nachos and went to a movie. Thanks Josh!

Kylee passed her drive test!
