To celebrate Jeff's birthday we had some wonderful friends help us set up a surprise for Jeff. You will see as the day progresses his smile seems to get bigger. We started off the morning with some pastries from Williams-Sonoma, chocolate filled croissants and butter croissants. We had to wake Jeff up at 6am due to the fact that the kids all leave the house early for school. We let him go back to bed after. He also opened his presents from us. Jeff and I got to stay at a hotel near Pike's place market. We checked in and walked around the market and found a nice restaurant to eat dinner at called Cutter's. We had a beautiful view of the sunset. After dinner we took a taxi to the Key Arena for the Sonic's game. We had row 15 seats. Our friends arranged for Jeff to get an authentic Sonic's game jersey with his name on the back and the Sonic girls to deliver it to him, along with a birthday wish to him on the overhead game score board. He was so surprised!!! It was really fun to celebrate his birthday in such a special way. He is a great husband and father and we couldn't be more blessed to be a part of his life!

House in Belize!

Belize...where the heck is that?

Ok, so it's been a while since my last post. We have had a busy holiday much like everyone else I am sure. After Christmas Jeff and I prepared for the trip of a life time. We were invited by our good friends to travel with them to their vacation property in Belize. That is in Central America, and it is in the Caribbean. We witnessed and did things you only see on the Discovery channel. Some of the amazing things we experienced that I don't have pictures of were..

1. Cave tubing...there is a beautiful river that runs underneath a huge cave, we put on our swimsuits, we each got an inner tube to sit in and a spelunker light for our foreheads, and away we went down the river. Inside the cave there was a beautiful opening where many beautiful plants and flowers grew with the light shining from above. A little Garden of Eden underground, spectacular!!!
2. Survived a hurricane! One night the rain and winds really kicked up and we were up all night with rain beating on our window. We are still here to tell the tale, but it was quite the experience.
3. Saw a saltwater crocodile out the back of our house in the lagoon, surprise we cannot swim in that water and the locals say there are small dogs missing.

Travel by golf carts on dirt roads...

Ok, so we had a lot of time on our hands because of bad weather. So to make things a little more exciting we would race our golf carts through the dirt roads and the pot holes filled with water. Jeff and I always won of course! ( we were on the back of golf carts and not driving all the time, but it still counts!

What better introduction to our trip then arriving and looking for food because we were all starving to end up in a bar overlooking the water. Beautiful...then we were served half cooked sausage/hamburgers! Jeff actually finished his, while the rest of us had ours re-cooked, and literally they picked up the meat off our buns and mashed the meat back into a patty and re-cooked it with their bare hands, no gloves!)

Zip lining through the jungle of Belize!

Zip lining through the jungle of Belize on the main land with the designer of the zip line course...we were fortunate enough to be on the same trip with the designer of the course...he travels around the world to his courses 4 times a year to check their safety procedures. He goes by the name Troll? Very interesting and so fun, I wanted to leave the states and take up a job there zip lining all day, I actually was offered a job as a tour guide but Jeff nixed it...

Snorkeling we saw and swam with a nurse shark, eels,schools of fish, barracudas, and sting rays. (We have done this before in Hawaii and in Mexico, but this was truly the closest we have been to the marine life in the ocean.

Jeff opened a coconut for me with his bare hands! What more can I say, hot!

Felt like we were on Survivor with the rural aspect of the trip, not many people live in Belize and it is a third world country.
