Happy 18th Birthday Tucker :(

How cool are these?  Tucker loved  golf...well actually he loved life and he had fun every moment he was here!  We were able to get together with Tucker's family and their closest friends on what would have been Tucker's 18th birthday.  The family gave us each one of these.
 I just love them!

It has been 5 difficult months since he died.  I am really trying to focus on what Tucker taught me.  The first thing that comes to my mind is unconditional love.  He just 100% accepted me and my family for who we were  and loved us anyway!  What a gift he had to love.  He loved to laugh!  He found humor in everything.  He didn't take himself to seriously.  He would laugh at himself along with anyone else.  He was a hard worker.  He offered to build me a fire pit in our back yard.  I wish now I would have gone and bought the materials and let him; to always remember he did that, but it was a missed opportunity, nevertheless he left that example of service, and I loved that about him.
We are also going to visit him tomorrow for his birthday and Valentine's Day.  Kylee and I put this arrangement together to place at his grave.

My thoughts have also been about Tucker and Kylee.  He confessed to me his feelings for Kylee several times and his frustrations.  I would always advise with the word patience.
I threatened Kylee all thorough out grade school, middle school and high school that if she broke Tucker's heart  she would have me to recon with...so they never dated on my advice.  Waiting until he was home from his mission.

Of course secretly I wanted him for a son in law, who wouldn't?

Kylee has had the most difficult time dealing without her Tucker.  He was her rock.  That for me is one of the more difficult burdens to bear, watching her suffer such a significant loss

On Another's Sorrow

William Blake

Can I see another's woe,
And not be in sorrow too?
Can I see another's grief,
And not seek for kind relief?

Can I see a falling tear,
And not feel my sorrow's share?
Can a father see his child
Weep, nor be with sorrow filled?

Can a mother sit and hear
An infant groan, an infant fear?
No, no! never can it be!
Never, never can it be!
And can He who smiles on all
Hear the wren with sorrows small,
Hear the small bird's grief and care,
Hear the woes that infants bear --

And not sit beside the next,
Pouring pity in their breast,
And not sit the cradle near,
Weeping tear on infant's tear?

And not sit both night and day,
Wiping all our tears away?
Oh no! never can it be!
Never, never can it be!
He doth give his joy to all:
He becomes an infant small,
He becomes a man of woe,
He doth feel the sorrow too.

Think not thou canst sigh a sigh,
And thy Maker is not by:
Think not thou canst weep a tear,
And thy Maker is not near.

Oh He gives to us his joy,
That our grief He may destroy:
Till our grief is fled an gone
He doth sit by us and moan.
This poem reminds me of how I feel, but also reminds me that Heavenly Father loves us and is near and that I need to trust in him :)

~Happy Birthday Jeff ~ The BIG 39!

Jeff is now the big 39!  He is not so excited about it, but I am!  I love birthdays!  He is a big fan of Mexican food so after school and work we stayed in and I cooked for him and the family.

Creamy Chicken Enchiladas
Beans
and homemade  rice...  I use any Mexican/Spanish rice packet then substitute green enchilada sauce and chicken stock for the water and tomatoes...Yummy!

And for his present we all went in on a new elliptical, here is a snip from the Costco ad where we purchased it.  He was so happy!

And Pineapple Upside Down Cake for Dessert!

Happy Birthday !  We love you!

Kylee turns 19! Happy Birthday !~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~

Kylee has always surrounded herself with such wonderful people.  For her birthday some of her best friends were in town from college so they all got together and went to Laser Quest then came back to the house to hang out, eat and enjoy homemade MUD PiE!  Growing up with three brothers it is easy to see how Kylee gravitates to boys.  In high school the girls always seemed to be so catty anyway, boys are so easy  going.  Here are some pictures of this fun group!
Kylee's version of "Girls Night Out"
Jeremy, Steve, Neal and Garrett
Jeremy plays football for the University of Puget Sound, Neal and Kylee are going to Green River together and Steve and Garrett are roommates at Washington State.  (The Utes beat them today by the way :) sorry boys
Kylee can count on these guys for anything and everything!
They go way back!
Kylee was also surprised to receive some flowers by delivery from a newer friend in her life.  He went away to college with Spencer but was thoughtful enough to remember Kylee's birthday, and her favorite color.  She was so excited!
We took Kylee out to Las Margaritas for dinner as a family where she got her present from us...
There are no surprises with Kylee, she always knows what she is getting...because we usually shop together
At least I don't make her wrap her own presents
By the way, the couple in the background eating are our good friends the Hills, who happened to be there...
And the present is dun dun dun...an Amazon Kindle Fire!
Yea!

Happy Birthday Jensen ~ 17 ~

Jensen is officially 17!  I cannot believe it!  My little J is a junior and only a year away from graduating and two away from his mission.  Yikes!  I am trying very hard to live in the moment and appreciate where he is now, but I know how fast it goes.  Jensen was fortunate this year because his birthday fell on a Friday and there was a teacher inservice day scheduled which meant "NO SCHOOL"  so he got the best gift of all, a day off.  Thursday night he decided to have a bunch of friends meet at Laser Quest then after they came over to our house to hang out.  The boys stayed the night and didn't sleep much.  I did.  Thanks to Tylenol PM.  They got to sleep in and then have a big breakfast by chef me.  After they went and played ultimate frisbee at the park.   Jensen just came back home and relaxed the rest of his day.  He had a great time, and I had so much fun watching him enjoy his day.
Entering the game
Jensen won the 1st game, even wearing all white...which is the color that glows the most brightly under the black lights?  Not sure how he pulled that off?

Lots of pizza ,salad, pop and breadsticks
playing games
Paige and Anna
Jennifer whose birthday is the same day as Jensen's.  They jokingly call each other twiners.
Faith loved all the quarter machines
Banner I made for his party
Jensen's favorite cupcakes..."better than sports cake"
favorite picture of the day...I love how the two treats are in focus on both sides of the frame but the middle is blurred.
