Spencer continues to do great in the MTC! He says his spanish is coming along well, he is studying and working harder than he ever has in his life, and is enjoying it. A few of his funny stories. The first... we mailed him a paddle ball toy, the kind that a ball is attached with a long rubber band. Spencer said one of his friends in his district has a record of 1400 hits without a miss. Then Spencer says his is a little lower...17 hits. He said he got so frustrated he gave that toy to the other Elder. Another funny story...Spencer got a call Wednesday morning...(his 3 week mark) and was asked if he was packed and ready for his flight? He said his travel date was September 17th. They insisted that he go to the office. At the office he was also told that day was his travel date...he was sent to the travel department. Upon arriving there, they finally said he was not travelling that day and there was a glitch in their system. So that was a jump start to his morning! Advise Spencer gave in his letter, was to stay positive in all things and your experiences will be positive! It's a promise if we stay positive that we will be happy!
I thought this was a wonderful letter, of course I am bias, but we are enjoying the great blessings that come with his service, and we are so privilaged to be his parents!
i miss spencer.
ReplyDeletei'm glad he's doing good.
it was awesome being with him the last few weeks.

miss you guys.
Don't think I could handle that kind of jump start to my morning...but knowing Spencer...he took it in stride and was ready to do whatever they decided. Just so proud of him!
ReplyDeleteI received a cute letter also explaining what happened. So many life experiences already starting on this mission. I sure my first born grandson.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Mom/Grandma S.
Addendum:
ReplyDeleteSomehow the whole sentence did not get into the previous message. It should have said, "I sure am proud of my first born grandson and love him so very much!"
